Victoria Beckham joined the rest of the Spice Girls for a special performance at the London 2012 Olympics closing ceremony
We think it’s safe to say that the majority of us were looking forward to the Olympics closing ceremony for one special reason – the Spice Girls reunion.
Last night, Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Mel C, Mel B and Emma Bunton got together for a special one-off performance at the Olympic Stadium in Stratford.
The five girls arrived on stage in the back of separate black London taxi cabs and proceeded to entertain the 80,000-strong crowd with their hits Wannabe (we were squealing with joy at this point) and Spice Up Your Life.
After jumping on top of their respective taxis, the Spice Girls whizzed around the stadium as they belted out the classic songs. London mayor Boris Johnson and Prime Minister David Cameron were even seen up on their feet and doing some questionable dad dancing at this point.
Victoria Beckham, despite rumoured reservations about the performance, seemed to enjoy herself as she did her thing in a custom-made gown by Giles Deacon.
Geri Halliwell wore a modern twist on her now iconic Union Jack dress designed by Suzanne Neville which she teamed with a Halo & Co gold tiara, Emma Bunton looked super-cute in a hot pink mini dress by Maggie Cooke, Mel C opted for flared trousers and a matching crop top, while Mel B glittered in a Zuhair Murad catsuit.
It’s thought that last night’s closing ceremony was the last time the Spice Girls will ever perform together. Sob.
