Victoria Beckham jetted straight home to Los Angeles after the Viva Forever launch yesterday

Spice Girls fever is gripping the nation - and most definitely the Marie Claire office - once again, so after the successful launch of Viva Forever, it was only right that the girls hit the town to celebrate.

After the press conference at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel in London, where they chatted to the world's media about the new West End musical, which is based on the Spice Girls' hit songs, most of the former girl group headed out in the capital to let their hair down.

While Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton headed to Little House in Mayfair and then onto the Groucho Club to have a catch-up, Mel B decided to grab a bite to eat at Nobu Berkley with husband Stephen Belafonte.

Notably absent was Victoria Beckham, who, despite having only been in London for less than 24 hours, jetted straight back home to Los Angeles to see her family, especially baby Harper Beckham.

As she left the press conference, she said: 'I'd love to stay and hang out with the girls but I'm desperate to see her before she goes to bed. I have to race home for bedtime.'

Mel C decided against a night out on the town, also choosing family time over partying with her former bandmates.

Viva Forever, has been created by producer Judy Craymer, the lady behind the ABBA musical, while the script has been written by Jennifer Saunders.

The musical will open in the West End in December.
