Simon says Britney DID walk off after suffering from a panic attack on her first day on X Factor USA

Simon Cowell has sensationally revealed that Britney Spears DID try to quit the US X Factor on her first day as a judge.

The music mogul has revealed that Britney tried to leave the show after suffering a panic attack, and it took all his powers of persuasion to entice the starlet back.

Simon Cowell told TMZ he 'half-lied' at the time when he brushed off reports his $15 million judge had stormed off set after just 20 minutes on her first day.

'No one is going to admit that on the first day your highest paid star after 20 minutes has walked off set,' he said.

The 52-year-old has now conceded the singer 'had a moment on the first day where she said to me 'I'm not sure I can do this,'' and that it took all his powers to get her back on the panel.

It's a move that paid off - Simon now says he's delighted with Britney's getting on in her role.
