Are Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears going to collaborate?

Please, please, please let this be true

How would you feel about working with your ex? We’re guessing not particularly positive – too many awkward hellos in the office kitchen and hasty attempts to hide behind the water cooler, right?

Well, not if you’re Justin Timberlake apparently. The actor was recently questioned about whether he’d want to collaborate with his ex, Britney Spears, after she revealed that she’d like to work together.

Answering questions from E! News on the red carpet of Toronto International Film Festival, Justin replied: ‘She did? Sure! Absolutely.’

Although the musician-turned-actor seemed a little surprised by the news that Britney was keen to collaborate, he was surprisingly positive. ‘I have a 17-month-old so I don’t get the headline news,’ he explained. ‘I apologise for not being in the know…I’m accessible, give us a call. You hear that Britney? Get on the phone right now.’

It’s been 14 years since the couple broke up and broke our hearts (no more matching denim numbers *sob*) but it seems Justin is still on Britney’s mind

In an interview with BreatheHeavy.com, Britney revealed that her dream collaborations would include Aerosmith, Gwen Stefani, and, of course, ex Justin Timberlake.

‘I would love to work with…Aerosmith seems very good and bright. He’s [Steve Tyler] a genius, I think. He’s very rock ‘n’ roll and sings from the soul. Gwen Stefani, I think she’s great. Justin Timberlake is very good.’

And, as you’d expect, the internet went nuts at the news, not only because everyone loves the idea of our favourite pop prince and princess reuniting, but also because the couple reportedly didn’t end on the best of terms. Remember Cry Me a River? That was supposedly about Justin’s break-up with Britney after she cheated. Ouch.

Thankfully, both sides have now moved on since then with Justin now married to Jessica Biel and Britney been married and now has two sons.

So perhaps a reunion is now on the cards? We really, really hope so.
