Would Carrie have approved of SJP's red carpet style? Absolutely
Leicester Square hosted the fashion event of the season last night as the world premiere of Sex and the City: The Movie saw the fab four return together to the red carpet.
The fans were not disappointed as Sarah Jessica Parker lived up to her fashion fabulous on-screen persona, Carrie Bradshaw, donning her signature prom-style dress, accessorised with a Philip Treacy hat, which was adorned with green roses and butterflies.
SJP chose to wear Alexander McQueen to launch the silver screen version of the hit TV series, that every woman kept her Friday night free for.
Her look gave us a clear indication that we can expect a fashion phenomenon when the movie opens at the end of the month. And with a rumoured 81 costume changes for Sarah Jessica alone, it’s guaranteed to be a visual treat.
SJP’s co-stars rose to the fashion challenge as well, choosing to wear a mixture of English and American designers.
Kim Cattrall chose a red strapless Vivienne Westwood dress, whilst Kristin Davis opted for a pinky-red vintage chiffon number. It was Cynthia Nixon who dared to bare, however, in a black plunging Calvin Klein gown, accessorised with a Chopard diamond and sapphire necklace, earrings and a ring worth £200,000.
As fans chanted, ‘We want Carrie!’ Sarah Jessica Parker exclaimed: ‘This is a miraculous and simply unforgettable night for us all.’
The actress described the world premiere as ‘an incredible way to kick off the journey’.
The film plot still remains under wraps, but when pressed to give a hint of what fans can expect, SJP commented: ‘It’s about forgiveness and pursuing love in a way that is real and meaningful.’
