Sean Penn's ex calls relationship with Scarlett 'great'

The actor's ex-girlfriend has reportedly given his relationship with Scarlett Johansson her blessing

Rumours on the state of Sean Penn and Scarlett Johansson’s relationship have been doing the rounds since January, but it seems the couple are becoming more comfortable with making their romance official. Although both camps have remained tight-lipped on the subject, others close to the stars have been spilling the beans – including Sean’s ex-girlfriend.

A friend of the 26-year-old blonde actress has also confirmed the relationship.

‘Scarlett is head over heels in love with Sean. She normally tries to hide away from public attention, but when she's with Sean she doesn't care,' she told the website.

Indeed, after turning up as a couple to Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth's wedding last weekend it doesn’t look like they are trying to make any secret of it.

‘Turning up at a wedding with your boyfriend is definitely a huge statement, especially that wedding,’ the source continues, ‘what it’s doing is announcing to the whole of Hollywood that they are serious.’

The pair were first spotted together after meeting at Chateau Marmont while Scarlett was filming We Bought A Zoo with Matt Damon. Since then, they have been seen enjoying each other’s company at a party for Black Swan in LA, as well as getting cosy whilst eating out together. They are even rumoured to have flown to Mexico for a daytrip.

Scarlett split from husband of two years Ryan Reynolds in January, and Sean has been divorced from second wife Robyn Wright Penn since 2009.
