  • The recently single Girl Aloud is reportedly battling depression after splitting from fiancé Tom Crane

Recently single Girl Aloud Sarah Harding has checked into a private rehab clinic suffering from alcohol and depression issues, after splitting from fiancé Tom Crane last month.

According to the Sun, the singer ‘hit rock bottom’ after calling off her engagement to the DJ during a make or break trip to Ibiza at the beginning of September.

And it’s thought the sad star has been battling with alcohol and depression issues ever since – making just a handful of public appearances in recent weeks.

‘She’s been through a traumatic time in her personal life and had to honour her work commitments on top,’ one insider told the paper. ‘She needs some time out to clear her head.

‘Splitting from Tom has played a huge part in her decision to seek help. She just needs to get herself back on track emotionally. She had hit rock bottom.’

Adding everything had just ‘got the better of her,’ the source said the singer’s friends are glad she’s now getting the support she needs.

‘It all just got the better of her,’ they added. ‘She had been with Tom for a long time. All her plans for the future suddenly came crashing down.’

‘Some of her closest friends had suggested she seek help over the last few months, but she refused. She was burying her head in the sand, but now she is getting support.’

Last night reps confirmed the singer was seeking treatment, saying: ‘Sarah Harding has entered a treatment centre for depression and alcohol addiction.’

    Get well soon, Sarah.
