Ryan Gosling may be blissfully happy with Eva Mendes but he revealed that before he hit the Hollywood big time and bagged himself a stunning girlfriend to boot he used to lock lips with fellow Mouseketeer, Britney Spears.

The heartthrob shared the somewhat jaw-dropping news to Style magazine as he reminisced about his former Mickey Mouse Club colleagues who include Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and Britney.

Ryan Gosling said: ‘Britney was a sweetheart. She lived right above me, the girl next door. The little girl I used to play basketball and spin the bottle with.’

While the cast may have lost touch over the years, their respect and admiration for each other certainly hasn’t floundered. Ryan praised their success focusing on their dedication to their careers.

He added: ‘You give these kids [The Disney Channel stars] an unparalleled work ethic which is why you see the difference between *NSYNC and those other bands, and between Britney and Christina and the other girls.’

Ryan continues on this theme saying the success he and his classmates reached has been ‘remarkable’ particularly because they were from an era without talent TV shows such as The X Factor.
