Ryan Gosling may be drawn to tough guy roles but he clearly knows how to extract the right emotional reaction from audiences – who hasn’t cried at The Notebook? But now the tables have turned as it’s he who had to fight back tears as he filmed his latest project, The Place Beyond The Pines.

Speaking to Nuts magazine, Ryan Gosling wasn’t afraid to expose his softer side as he revealed some scenes with his little co-star made him misty eyed. The actor said: ‘I didn't know that was going to happen. I was just sitting in the church watching a baby be baptised, and I don't know why I was emotional, but I was.’

Awww!

Although the A-lister quickly made a joke of things and felt the need to justify his show of emotion adding: ‘First of all, that's due to the fact that the kid who plays my son is an infant - his name is Tony Pizza. It's hard not to like a guy named Tony Pizza. We really hit it off.’

Working with children is clearly something Ryan Gosling is keen to repeat on his next film, How to Catch a Monster, which he also wrote. Along with producers, the star is hosting open auditions, sadly though we can’t apply as he’s seeking a small child aged 2-3 years.
