The actor has reportedly separated from his wife of nine years
Russell Crowe is believed to have split from his wife of nine years, Danielle Spencer after reports of a break up surfaced yesterday. The news has shocked showbiz circles who always believed the marriage was 'strong'.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the couple split amicably and their two children Charles, 8 and Tennyson, 6, will stay with their mother while Russell continues filming for his latest role in biblical epic Noah.
It’s a sad end to the love story that started when the pair met 22 years ago on the set of the movie The Crossing. They later married on Russell’s farm in Nana Glen, New South Wales.
Thanks to the Gladiator’s lucrative film career they lived in a £6 million mansion in Rose Bay, Sydney where it’s thought Danielle will continue living following the split.
An official announcement is yet to be released but the newspaper also reported that the Oscar-winning actor will now turn his undivided attention to his career. With six films coming out in the next year including, Les Miserables and Winter's Tale, it’s probably a wise move.
