Russell Brand is to meet wife Katy Perry for first time since announcing their separation.

He has been keeping a low profile in London since separating from popstar wife Katy Perry, but Russell Brand has now returned to the US to discuss their impending divorce.

The 36-year-old will be meeting his wife of 14 months with the intention of finalising their divorce, but sources say she is desperate to reconcile their romance.

A close friend revealed to the Sunday Mirror that the couple have very different aims for the rendevous. 'He has agreed to meet her one last time. He wants to sort things out and finalise the divorce,' the pal said.

Adding: 'But Katy says she is still in love with him and she still has hopes they might get back together.'

The source also dismisses the rumours that Katy has been influenced by her pastor parents' wishes for her to date someone more religious, adding that she isn't interested in anyone else.

However Russell, who moved into his new $1.9 million LA bachelor pad earlier this week, is reportedly only after closure.

He cut a solemn figure as he dined alone at a Boa Steak House last night.
