Robert Pattinson spotted for the first time since Kristen Stewart affair

Robert Pattinson was said to be in 'good spirits' at a club in California

Robert Pattinson isn't a fan of the limelight at the best of times, so it's no surprise that the Twilight star has been laying low since the news that girlfriend Kristen Stewart had been cheating on him with director Rupert Sanders.

Now Rob has been spotted for the first time since Kristen released a heartfelt and public statement apologising to him for her affair a couple of weeks ago.

The 26-year-old headed out with a group of friends to The Deer Lodge in Ojai, California, on Friday night to party away his troubles and the actor was said to be in 'good spirits.'

An employee at the club told Radar: 'I've been told by several people that Robert Pattinson was here enjoying the music with his friends.

'He seemed in good spirits. I wasn't on that night so I didn't personally see him, but several others did.'

Another person who was at the bar on Friday was a woman called Julie Demdam, who tweeted about her impressive celebrity sighting. She wrote: 'Awesome night in Ojai. Got to hang with a rowdy bunch of Brits and one of them happened to be Edward.

'He wasn't moping and the girls were definitely just his friend. The girls were drunk and literally danced on the floor.

'The girls were nice. I stood next to them at the bar.

'He wasn't drunk. Just taking in the scene. Smoked next to him outside.'

The Deer Lodge is near to the ranch that Pattinson has moved into with his friend and Water for Elephants co-star Reese Witherspoon and her husband, Jim Toth.
