Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart 'barely speaking'

Robert Pattinson and Kristen stewart have struggled to stay in touch since Rob left for Australia

Robert Pattinson has been pictured hard at work filming scenes for new flick The Rover in Australia this week, proving his post-Twilght film career is thriving. But one area of his life that doesn't seem to be going so well, is his relationship with girlfriend Kristen Stewart.

According to insiders Rob and Kristen are struggling to cope with their long distance relationship, which has meant the couple barely have time to speak.

It's thought the time difference between Los Angeles and Hammond, South Australia where Robert Pattinson is filming leaves they unable to get to the phone at the same time, with the formally inseparable couple resorting to texts.

'The time difference is 18-and-a-half hours between Los Angeles and Adelaide, where Robert is, so it’s proving a difficulty for them to speak to each other regularly and easily,' a source told Perez Hilton.

'Robert is often starting his working day when Kristen is busy, and vice versa. And he’s not the best at sending texts, or keeping in touch in the first place.'

Just yesterday the very first pictures of Robert Pattinson on the set of upcoming film The Rover emerged.

The actor was snapped preparing for scenes in the hotly-tipped new flick, as filming got underway in the middday heat, in Hammond, South Australia.

Dressed in muddy trousers and a dark black shirt, Robert Pattinson showed off a closely cropped new 'do and plenty of stubble as he ran through a series of scenes, surrounded by camera crew.
