Priyanka Chopra stands up for her friend Meghan Markle

Can she be our best friend too?

Not even Wendy Williams could make Priyanka Chopra crack. The Baywatch actress was recently a guest on the Wendy Williams Show, during which they talked about her insane 20 foot long Met Gala dress, upcoming film - and of course, her close friendship with Meghan Markle.

Digressing away from Priyanka’s achievements, Wendy took the opportunity to grill her on the Suits actress. She began, ‘You’re also friends with Meghan Markle, Prince Harry’s girlfriend-’

‘Also Meghan Markle, actress, Suits, her achievements,’ Priyanka interrupted the host, choosing instead to highlight her friend’s fantastic career.

Wendy didn’t let the Prince Harry angle slide however and immediately asked Priyanka for insight into Meghan’s royal relationship. With marriage on everybody’s lips after Pippa Middleton’s gorgeous ceremony last Saturday, Wendy took the chance to question if Priyanka thought her friend would be tying the knot any time soon.

Priyanka refrained from spilling too many details and said, ‘I think they look great together...I hope so, I mean, no pressure. Listen, high profile relationships are so stressful anyways and as a friend, I wouldn’t like to add on that at all.’

The actress, who splits her time between India and the USA on high profile projects, also revealed that Meghan was the friend she would talk to when she was stressed. On the other hand, she also pointed out that Meghan didn’t seem to be stressed at the moment - a good indication that everything Suits- and Prince Harry-wise seems to be going well for her.

The host continued to pry Priyanka for more prospective wedding details, eventually asking, ‘Do you think you’d be a bridesmaid? Are you that close to her?’

Priyanka did another good job of deflecting, saying, ‘I don’t think I’m that close to her, I don’t know that. I mean I’ve known her two years now and we randomly met at a party and got on really well. So I don’t know. Once I get the invite - if I’m even invited.’

‘No, no. You’re going to be invited,’ Wendy insisted.

With a friend like Priyanka - who stands up for your personal achievements and stands her ground against gossip queen Wendy Williams - she’d be at the top of our invite list too. The actress can be seen playing a silver tongued villain in Baywatch this 29 May, alongside Alexandra Daddario, Zac Efron and The Rock.
