Prince Louis celebrated his first birthday on April 23, and to mark the milestone Kensington Palace released a trio of ADORABLE pictures of him.

The string of images included one of him covered in grass while sitting in the grounds of the Cambridge's Norfolk home as he beamed with joy in a red jumper, as well as another one of him wearing a blue knitted jumper with a dog emblazoned on the front.

The Twitter post read: 'The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to share three new photographs of Prince Louis ahead of his first birthday tomorrow.

'The photographs were taken earlier this month by The Duchess at their home in Norfolk.'

The post has attracted a lot of attention from fans who have drawn comparisons between Louis and his other relatives, including older siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte, as well as his dad Prince William.

However, some believe Louis looks identical to a baby picture of Kate back in 1982, because of their facial features, and big cheeks (swoon).

With some replying to Kensington Palace's tweet, and wrote: 'He looks so much like Catherine it's insane', while another added: 'Literally her twin!! I can't take it.'

A Kate Middleton Instagram fan page shared a comparison photo of the two.

A likeness between Kate and Louis was drawn last year after official images to celebrate Prince Charles' birthday were released.

But a separate Twitter user even noticed similarities between Louis and his maternal grandparent, Michael Middleton.

Whoever he looks like, Prince Louis is undoubtedly one of the smiliest royal babies to date.
