Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have revealed the details of the talented pastry chef who will create a spring-themed wedding cake for the couple for their nuptials in May.
Announcing the name of the London-based bakery who have been charged with the important task of creating the couple’s wedding cake for the royal wedding at Windsor Castle on May 19th, Kensington Palace tweeted, ‘For their wedding cake Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle have chosen pastry chef Claire Ptak, owner of the London-based bakery @violetcakes.’
Violet Bakery is owned by Claire Ptak, who describes herself as a stylist, cook and author on her official Twitter account, and regularly shares images of her beautiful creations via her Instagram account. The talented chef is also a mum to a daughter named Frances, who is two.
Meghan Markle was already of a fan of Claire’s work long before meeting Prince Harry, as she previously interviewed the chef for her blog that she has since closed down, which was called The Tig.
Kensington Palace also revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have chosen a spring theme for their wedding cake. Although they were previously rumoured to have been considering a banana cake for their wedding dessert centrepiece, it has now been revealed that the couple have chosen a lemon elderflower flavoured cake that aims to capture the ‘bright flavours of spring’ and will be decorated with beautiful fresh flowers.
‘Prince Harry and Ms. Markle have asked Claire to create a lemon elderflower cake that will incorporate the bright flavours of spring’ the Palace tweeted. ‘It will be covered with buttercream and decorated with fresh flowers.’
If Claire’s Instagram is anything to go by, the wedding cake will be gorgeous indeed, and may will incorporate some of Meghan’s favourite flowers – peonies – which the former actress has previously revealed make her, ‘endlessly happy’.
‘Prince Harry and Ms. Markle are looking forward to sharing the cake with guests at their wedding at Windsor Castle on May 19th’the announcement ended.
We can’t wait to see the finished creation!
