Congratulations are in order!

The rumours are true – the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have indeed expanded their family three months into married life.

After months and months of speculation, it has been confirmed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have a new addition to their home and are now a family of four.

No, not a baby – they got a puppy!

According to PEOPLE, the couple adopted a little Labrador Retriever at the beginning of summer (a very British choice, might we add).

The pup has been staying with them between their main residence in Kensington Palace and their second home in the Cotswolds.

The new arrival already has another four-legged friend at home in the form of Meghan's beagle, Guy, who came with her from Toronto when she moved to London. So he or she has had someone experienced on hand to show them the royal ropes.

The pair are gearing up for their royal tour of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and the Kingdom of Tonga – and it's just been announced that David Beckham will be tagging along for this reason.

It's well-known that Meghan is a massive dog fan; as well as Guy, she also had a rescue dog, Bogart, who sadly had to stay behind in Canada.

The prince also quipped in the couple's BBC engagement interview that Meg and his grandmother's corgis had instantly hit it off.

We're sure that Harry, Meghan, Guy and the new arrival are loving their countryside walks together as a family of four.
