Pippa Middleton and Nico Jackson got more than they bargained for this weekend, when their romantic break in Scotland made headlines for their controversial country pursuits.
The Duchess of Cambridge's younger sister sparked a backlash when a photograph of her posing with friends and over 50 dead pheasants and partridges at her feet emerged on Instagram. The girls, all smiling and wearing wellington boots, jeans or jodhpurs and Barbour jackets, were on a shooting trip at Gilmerton's Drum Estate.
Animal rights campaigners were more than disappointed with the image, while Queen guitarist Brian May said on Twitter that he 'struggled to understand the smiles in this picture'.
The image was taken by a friend called John Greig, who posted the pictures publicly onto Instagram for the world to see.
Pippa and Nico, a stockbroker for Deutsche Bank, were seen arriving at Edinburgh airport on Friday night with friends, with the Duchess of Cambridge's little sister looking on-trend in a camel cape and jeans.
She sparked controversy earlier this year when she went on a hunting trip in France. Did the picture offend you? Let us know what you think in the comments box below...
