First Lady Michelle Obama also launched a new Twitter account
Michelle Obama celebrated her 49th birthday yesterday by launching a new Twitter account and using it to show off a new, gorgeous 'do.
The First Lady unveiled a second Twitter account, @FLOTUS (which stands for First Lady of the United States), and debuted the dramatic haircut.
In a Twitpic with Inaugural citizen co-chair David Hall, Mrs Obama is seen with a sleek bob and feathered fringe - or bangs as our lovely American friends like to call them.
Interestingly, of the 15 other Twitter accounts that Michelle has chosen to follow her husband's isn't one of them, while he immediately started following her new account. Ooops.
Aside from celebrating her birthday, Michelle is busy gearing up for Barack Obama's inauguration which will take place with various events held in Washington DC over the next few days culminating in the Inauguration Ball on Monday.
Obama has lined up some huge stars to perform during the inauguration and they include Stevie Wonder, Katy Perry, John Legend, Usher and Beyonce.
And, of course, all eyes will be on Michelle Obama's outfit choices for the glitzy events.
