Michael Jackson could be set to do an exclusive performance on the X Factor, if Simon Cowell gets his way.
After the huge success of Britney Spears' appearance on the show last year, Simon is apparently desperate to nab Jacko for a one-off special performance.
Conveniently the iconic singer will be in London when filming starts on the next series due to his 50-date residency at the O2 arena.
A source told the Daily Mirror: 'Britney was a massive coup for Cowell. But he's determined to raise the bar even higher and secure Jacko’s services.
'He is perhaps one of the few artists who could outshine Britney. The only sticking point is that while Britney had her new album to promote, Jacko's shows have sold out in minutes and don’t necessarily need the publicity. But Cowell won't let that stop him. He is determined to get his man.'
Britney's appearance on the talent show pulled in millions of viewers and Simon will be hoping the same effect if he can get Jacko on board.

The source added: 'Jackson has nothing to prove when it comes to appearing on a show like The X Factor but anything is possible and they are quietly confident.'
Tickets for Jackson's This is It concerts officially went on sale at 7am this morning, but thousands were sold during an 18-hour pre-sale earlier in the week.
