Meghan Markle has made non-stop headlines since becoming a royal, from any details regarding her baby son Archie to her A-list friendship circles and frequent travels back to the states.

This week it was all three of the above that made the Duchess of Sussex headline news, as a quote from Meghan’s close celebrity friend Serena Williams was taken the wrong way.

Meghan flew out to New York to support the tennis pro at the US Open in September this year, something that Serena was noticeably touched by, telling Access Hollywood: ‘I just really think she’s the strongest, literally the strongest person I know and the nicest, sweetest.’

She continued: ‘She flew all the way with a newborn to see me play in New York and flew all the way back that night, and I probably couldn’t have done that. It kinda goes to show you what an amazing person that she is and that’s just one of the many things that she does for me.’

Viewers were quick to take from the quote that Meghan must have taken baby Archie to New York, wondering how she had managed to sneak him in incognito - especially as she was flying commercial.

It was reported today however that the quote was taken the wrong way, with a spokesperson for Meghan confirming that baby Archie did not travel with Meghan. The Duchess made the visit to New York solo.

Well, that’s that.
