Charlize Theron was said to be dating Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet over the weekend.
The Daily Mail reported that the pair had hit it off after being introduced in Los Angeles earlier this year.
A source told them: 'Charlize and Eric get along incredibly well. They started off as friends but things are blossoming between them.
'Eric is down to earth and funny and Charlize thinks the world of him. It’s early days but they’re very fond of each other.'
But it's another case of don't believe everything you read as the actor, who recently split from his long-term girlfriend, Katherine Tokarz, used Twitter and then a red carpet interview at last night's Emmy Awards to set matters straight.

Writing on Twitter, he joked: 'I wish people would stop spreading rumors that Charlize Theron and I are dating. It's starting to make Halle Berry jealous.'
Later that day, as he walked the red carpet at the Emmys, Eric told Extra host Maria Menounos that he felt the rumours of his relationship with Charlize Theron were all a 'practical joke.'
Charlize has been single since she split from Stuart Townsend after nine years in 2010, and recently adopted a son called Jackson.
