Liberty Ross is divorcing Rupert Sanders, six months after his fling with Kristen Stewart

Liberty Ross has filed for divorce from Rupert Sanders, six months after his affair with Kristen Stewart was revealed.

TMZ reports that Liberty has filed divorce papers at the LA County Superior Court and has asked for joint custody of their two children, Skyla and Tennyson, as well as spousal support.

Rupert Sanders, who had a 'momentary indiscretion' with Kristen Stewart while they both worked on Snow White and the Huntsman, has filed a response to the divorce, also asking for joint custody of the couple’s children.

Liberty, 34, hinted that her marriage was over during a confessional video series for designer Alexander Wang, that was published after his New York Fashion Week show last autumn. She said: '[This year was] the end of some things and the beginning of something else,' she continued. 'Beginnings and endings are always really exciting.'

After news of her affair with Rupert Sanders, 41, emerged, Kristen Stewart, 22, made a very public apology to boyfriend Robert Pattinson, who seems to have since forgiven her.

Her statement said: 'I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected.'

'This momentary indiscretion has jeopardised the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.'
