'Mental health is no joke and the media needs to stop spitting it out so casually'
After a social media hiatus, Kanye West made his return to Twitter earlier this month.
It’s been a busy year for the star and his wife Kim Kardashian, who welcomed their third child, a daughter, via a surrogate in January.
Since his Twitter return, Kanye has posted a number of tweets of a philosophical nature – with wife Kim and Chrissy Teigen roasting him for writing ‘sometimes you have to get rid of everything’ last week.
But when news broke yesterday that the rapper had fired his manager as well as other members of his team, several news outlets reported on ‘concerns’ for his mental health.
In response, Kim Kardashian has now posted a strong statement to Twitter criticizing said outlets.
In a long series of tweets, the mum-of-three called out the reports speculating on her husband’s mental health, branding them as ‘scary’ and ‘demonizing’ her husband.
She then went on to address the comments surrounding his positive tweets about current US President, Donald Trump.
We have to agree with Kim’s comments – Kanye, much like his wife, has always been one to speak his mind, and mental health is a complex issue that shouldn’t be handled lightly.
Hats off to her for speaking out.
