Katy Perry and John Mayer appear to be taking their relationship to the next level

Katy Perry’s divorce from Russell Brand was only finalised at the start of the summer yet she’s wasted no time in moving on – and she’s doing so at a serious pace.

The raven-haired songstress’ rumoured new relationship with John Mayer has taken a turn as The Sun reports she handed her beau a key to her LA home. And she didn’t stop there, the pair also allegedly joked about getting married.

During a recent trip to Las Vegas the couple reportedly messed around with the idea of tying the knot in an Elvis chapel, although they were stopped in their tracks when they ended up having a few too many drinks.

While marriage is off the cards, for a while at least, spending more time home alone together certainly isn’t.

Whenever John flies in from New York to see Katy he prefers to stay in hotels rather than at the property he owns in LA. But as their romance heats up he’s decided to have a key to Katy’s home.

A source told the newspaper: ‘John thinks it is easier to stay in hotels rather than his own LA pad. But Katy insists he should stay with her. She thinks it makes sense.’ While the lovebirds are clearly happy, the singer’s family are a little worried it’s all happening too fast, the source added: ‘Katy’s family and friends are happy that she’s moving on from ex-hubby Russell Brand but they are begging her to slow down.’
