Kate Middleton has inspired a whole host of creatives during her short time in the public eye, from fashion designers to beauty buffs, and artist Nick Lord is the latest success story.
Having been awarded a coveted space on the walls of the National Portrait Gallery, Nick a former graffiti artist from Cardiff, is well known for his racy interpretation of a pregnant Duchess of Cambridge.
Just 25, Nick was crowned the winner of the Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year competition last night.
But before the art world goes into complete hysteria, his controversial portrait of Kate Middleton won’t be going on display any time soon.
Instead, Nick won the prestigious prize with an oil painting of Iraq war veteran Lane Corporal Johnson Beharry, who was awarded the Victoria Cross in 2005 after saving fellow soldiers from two ambushes.
