Kate Middleton has accepted an honorary membership at Wimbledon All England Tennis Club, a royal spokesman has revealed.
The move has fuelled rumours that the Duchess of Cambridge, a well know fan of the sport, is being lined up to succeed the Duke of Kent as the club's president, when he eventually decides to stand down.

Since joining the royal family, Kate has been a regular fixture in the royal box at Wimbledon during the summer, and is often spotted watching matches with Prince William or sister Pippa Middleton.
Last year Kate made several visits during the summer finals and cheered Andy Murray to gold at the Olympics.
And now the Duchess has accepted an invitation to become and honorary member.

A royal spokesman said: ‘The Duchess was pleased to accept the kind offer, particularly given her interest in tennis.'
According to the Daily Mail, Kate's club status has sparked rumours she could be invited to succeed the 77-year-old Duke of Kent, the club's president, when he eventually stands down.
Earlier this week it was revealed Kate Middleton has been undergoing hypnotherapy, after a severe bout of morning sickness earlier in her pregnancy.
According to the Duchess's childhood friend Jessica Hay,
Kate still looks at food and feels nauseous,' Hay was quoted by the Evening Standard as telling the magazine. 'She's been plagued with that feeling you have when you've had food poisoning and your stomach's shrunk. Hay continued: 'She finds it very hard to eat a full meal and gets full very quickly.
'The hypnotherapy is taking away any negative thoughts connected with food from the morning sickness, and replacing them with cravings for healthy, nutritious food.'
She added: 'All in all, Catherine's very happy. With so much family around her and William, they're starting to enjoy the pregnancy after such a traumatic start.'
