Ellen Degeneres also kindly gave Justin his very own Jennifer doll
This summer, Justin Theroux and Jennifer Aniston pulled off one of the most secret weddings in celebrity history – and it was in no way an easy feat to achieve.
Justin appeared on Ellen to talk all about the complications of arranging his marriage to the former Friends star, saying that they made a ‘massive miscalculation’ when planning the day.
The couple had decided to only tell certain guests with hectic schedules that it was actually their wedding, while pretending to others that it was just a birthday party.
‘Afterwards, we kind of realised, like, that was a terrible plan, because you’re basically telling half your guests, “You’re unemployed and we can’t trust you,” which was of course not the case, but we just kind of put it out there, and people that said yes to the birthday [we didn’t tell], and then people who said, “We can’t,” we really put more pressure on them to be at the “birthday”,’ Justin said.
But even those who were told it was a birthday party may have been suspicious, as apparently guests to the couple’s home have been suspicious of an impromptu wedding for years.
‘We also have friends who, when we‘ve done barbecues and stuff, show up, like, dressed to the nines, like, “This is the thing, right?,”‘ Justin said. ‘And we’re like, “No, this is actually just a barbecue.”‘
The actor also revealed that he loves being able to call Jennifer his wife. ‘The first couple days of doing it, it’s a great feeling,’ he said. ‘”Fiancée”, after a while, sounds cute at first…then, you get to say, “My wife.”‘
Ellen and Justin also talked about Jennifer’s fear of riding on Justin’s beloved motorbike. ‘She’s gotten on like three times, but she’s done with it,’ hesaid. ‘She doesn’t want to do it anymore.’
So to make sure Justin’s not lonely, Ellen kindly gave him a life-sized doll of his new wifey – who he proceeded to imitate, flicking back her famous her and saying ‘I love him!’
