Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence beats the likes of Rihanna and Mila Kunis for coveted title

Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence has beaten the likes of Mila Kunis and Rihanna for the coveted title of 'World's Most Desirable Woman'.

The Oscar nominated actress has shot up from her last year's 47th position to the top spot, previously held by Sofia Vergara, in the online magazine poll by AskMen.

Explaining why Jennifer Lawrence has come out as favourite, editor-in-chief James Bassil said: 'Overall, there's a sense that she's a little more authentic than other actors. She's fresh because we haven't seen her all over the gossip pages for the past three or four years.'

Bassil also added that a celebrity becomes less desirable the more they appear in the tabloids, which would explain why socialite Kim Kardashian has taken a fall from No. 8 to No. 98.

'Kim Kardashian is petering off and basically dropping off the list at this point even as she's become more visible,' he said.

Other beauties making up the top five include Mila Kunis, Rihanna, Kate Upton and Emma Stone.
