Homeland star Claire Danes gives birth to baby boy

Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy welcomed their baby son on Monday

Claire Danes has given birth to a baby boy, a publicist for her hugely popular show, Homeland, has confirmed.

The actress and her British actor husband Hugh Dancy have named their son Cyrus Michael Christopher Dancy.

It's turning out to be a great year for Danes, 33, who won an Emmy for her role as CIA operative Carrie Matheson in Homeland in September and has been nominated for a Golden Globe award - the show will be held in January.

Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy got married in 2009 and little Cyrus is their first child together.
