EXCLUSIVE! Olly Murs tells Marie Claire online how close his life is to Fifty Shades of Grey
Fifty Shades of Grey is widely believed to be based on Robert Pattinson, after the trilogy’s author, EL James, revealed the idea came to her after watching Twilight. But pop sensation Olly Murs has disputed that fact, telling us he believes the book is actually about him.
The singer and Xtra Factor presenter joked with Marie Claire online and told us: ‘I’ve read parts of Fifty Shades of Grey, I think it was based on me in some aspects of it.’
That’s some claim, but it all stems from a sincere appreciation of the best seller.
Olly is so enthusiastic about it that he’s happy to promote the book to other men, adding: ‘Every guy should read it, it’s a good read it gives guys a good insight of what women need and want. That’s what is so good about it.’
As a successful singer who toured America with One Direction, he clearly has some colourful stories of his own to tell, and apparently there’s enough to full a whole book, as he told us: ‘I would love to do a revealing book about some of the stuff I’ve got up to over the years, I’d call it Fifty Shades of Murs.’
While a saucy read may be a while off, Olly has written a new book about his less erotic adventures over the last few years although unlike Cheryl Cole’s latest autobiography it doesn’t spill any juicy details on other celebrities.
Olly explained why: ‘I don’t hang around with that many big celebrities. Cheryl Cole has experienced a lot more in her career, she’s been around a lot longer than me so obviously her book would have a lot more revealing on certain situations.’
Although Olly won’t rule it out in the future adding: ‘If I do get to do a book again I’d love to talk about different celebrities the ones who have been nice to me the ones that have been rude.’
We can’t wait to read that one!
