Stephen Amell reveals he’s ‘flattered’ to be linked to the Fifty Shades of Grey movie

The Fifty Shades of Grey movie has prompted a varied mix of reactions from the celebrities who have been linked to a role, Emma Watson denied any association, Sheridan Smith played a joke while Stephen Amell says he’s ‘flattered’.

The revelation came during an interview on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno where Stephen addressed the Fifty Shdes of Grey movie rumours he was to play Christian Grey in the screen adaptation of the hit novels.

The actor said: ‘I’m flattered if any movie role and my name are mentioned in the same sentence because there haven’t been a ton of them. I’m still an actor that wants to work all the time.’

The rumours started after Stephen Amell claimed he’d had a meeting with Fifty Shades of Grey movie producers on his Facebook page. Via a video the Arrow star told his fans: ‘I get questions about Christian Grey all the time but that project is a long way off, I know this because I had a meeting about it a long way off but not that long but not close. I wouldn’t call it long but I wouldn’t call it close.’

This week the star decided to clear up any confusion about his video telling Jay Leno: ‘I had a meeting with the studio that is doing that movie, and we spoke about it.

‘I anecdotally brought it up on my Facebook page, which I didn’t realise was real news now! I’ve operated my page the same way when I had 200 friends, and now I have more than that. And all of a sudden it was this big news story.’
