Denise Van Outen has spoken out about her unhappiness surrounding the breakdown of her friendship with former Johnny Vaughan. The pair met when co-hosting Channel 4’s the Big Breakfast in 1998, and later worked together on his breakfast show on Capital FM.
The 36-year-old Essex girl claimed that Johnny had basically blanked her since she left the radio show in 2008.
‘I haven’t seen Johnny for a while,’ she admitted to Richard Bacon in an interview on Radio 5 Live yesterday. ‘I did try to speak to him since I left but he kind of blocked me!’
The Only Way is Essex presenter recently married Lee Mead in April 2009, and they had their first child, Betsy, in May 2010. Denise claims that she was never congratulated on either by her former pal.
‘I haven't heard from him. Not when I got married or fell pregnant or anything, no.'

When asked if this had upset her, she said: ‘Yes it does, it's a shame because we were really good friends.’
At the time she blamed her departure from Johnny’s Capital FM radio show on the early starts, but has also said that she didn’t think the cheeky presenter wanted her there in the first place and wasn’t sad that she’d gone.
'I think he wasn't happy that I joined in the first place, he made it quite clear. But I think at the time, in his defence, he was used to doing the show on his own,’ she revealed.
'So I felt a little bit uncomfortable being there and now the show's changed completely.'
The 44-year-old now co-hosts with Lisa Snowdon.
