David Walliams proposes by hiding Lara Stone's £100,000 engagement ring in a cheeseburger
It's rare that you'd spot a model within 50 metres of any calorific fast food but David Walliams must have known something that we don't when he hid Lara Stone's £100,000 engagement ring in a cheeseburger.
The loved-up couple were staying at a posh hotel in LA when he requested that hotel employees slip the vintage 1910 Tiffany diamond ring on top of the meat patty inside her burger.
A source told The Sun: 'When Lara has a burger she always lifts the top off to remove salad so he thought it would be a funny way to pop the question.'
Happily, Lara followed her normal routine (otherwise this story may have ended in a choking tragedy) but instead of finding an onion ring, discovered the diamond one. The source continued, 'She burst into tears and screamed "Yes!" when she realised what was going on.' After a whirlwind seven-month romance, the happy couple plan to wed in the summer.
