David Beckham has been making the most of his trip down under. Along with a spot of football and some charity work, he’s managed to fit in some man-time with the newly metrosexual Shane Warne.
David Beckham caught up with the future Mr Liz Hurley in Melbourne as part of his tour of Australia. The pair swapped shirtswith David giving Shane an LA Galaxy top, while the cricketer handed over a Melbourne Stars shirt.
Dressed in a sharp suit, Beckham looked dapper as always but Shane Warne gave the footballer a run for his money in the style stakes. Since he started dating Liz Hurley last year, the 42-year-old Australian cricketer has undergone an image overhaul.
The once rugged and occasionally rounded cricketer now appears trim, tanned and tousled – embracing the metrosexual trend that David has championing for years (sarong, anyone?).
Shane recently shrugged off suggestions that he’s used Botox or even succumbed to surgery in attempt to roll back the years, claiming his transformation is down to nothing more than finding love. ‘I’ve never even had a consultation with a plastic surgeon,’ he told 3AW radio: ‘I am in love… I think that probably gives off a radiant glow too.’ Bless.
David Beckham seemed delighted to find a fellow fan of male grooming and after their meeting he posting a snap on his Facebook page, saying: ‘Here is a pic of me and cricketing legend, Shane Warne… top man.’
Afterwards, Shane Tweeted about their meeting: ‘Just swapped shirts with the very nice David Beckham.’
Long may the bromance continue!
