  • Corrie Star is the latest celeb to go from Strictly Come Dancing, after battling it out against Ricky Groves

Coronation Street star Craig Kelly became the latest contestant to be voted off Strictly Come Dancing after a dance-off this weekend.

Totting up his lowest score of the competition so far, Craig was disappointed to receive just 17 points for his cha cha on Saturday night’s show, saying ‘that’s disgraceful, I can’t believe that’.

But it seems the judges had other ideas, and there was no holding back as they let rip on the Corrie star’s performance.

Craig Revell-Horwood called it ‘not good at all’, adding ‘it was flat-footed and in fact it reminded me of a Thunder Bird’, while the usually complimentary Alesha said, ‘I’m happy for you that you got to Blackpool Craig. But I can’t believe that Zoe [Lucker] has gone and that I had to endure that. You are not as good as you think you are.’

So in a dance-off against Eastenders actor Ricky Groves, it was Craig who finally got the boot.

However, it was a great night for the Hollyoaks stars, with Ali Bastian achieving a perfect score of 40 for her waltz, and Ricky Whittle following closely behind with 35.

The show also saw 2004 winner Jill Halfpenny return to the stage to perform a swing dance.

Meanwhile, Alesha set tongues wagging about a possible collaboration with ratings rival Cheryl Cole, suggesting they could put their professional differences aside to sing together.

She said, ‘Would I duet with Cheryl? What like Beyonce and Shakira? I mentioned it to her ages ago. Who knows? I’d be up for it.’
