Italy calls, dahling
Words by Jadie Troy-Pryde
Last month, George and Amal Clooney welcomed two bundles of joy to the world, and although we’re still yet to get a picture of the twins we know that they were named Alexander and Ella for this sweet reason.
In true A-list baby style, the month-old twins are already jetting off for some much needed r&r in the beautiful Italian mountains. The Clooneys have spent the last month at their tranquil English countryside home, with George and Amal getting to grips with parenthood for the first time, but they were spotted stepping off a plane in Milan on Monday.
It is thought that the family are heading to George’s Lake Como estate for their getaway, which just goes to show that even tiny Hollywood babies are having a better summer than we are.
The fact that George and Amal are taking the little ones to Italy for their first holiday is significant. The couple met at George’s luxury Lake Como villa in 2013, and they were engaged less than a year later. They then returned in 2014, marrying in a lavish ceremony at the Aman Canal Grande luxury resort in Venice.
When the couple announced the birth of their twins, their spokesperson said: ‘This morning Amal and George welcomed Ella and Alexander Clooney into their lives.
‘Ella, Alexander and Amal are all healthy, happy and doing fine. George is sedated and should recover in a few days.’
The fact that George managed to sell his tequila brand, Casamigos, for a cool $1 billion shortly after the birth of his twins no doubt aided his recovery.
And what better way to celebrate your babies and billions than with a luxurious trip to Italy?
All in a day’s work for the Clooneys.
