Actor Slater and Jimmy Choo boss Mellon call time on their relationship

Christian Slater and shoe queen Tamara Mellon have called time on their romance after two years together.

The couple are parting company just weeks after the rumour mill claimed the pair were set to seal their relationship and walk down the aisle together.

The pressures of maintaining a long-distance relationship are said to be the main cause for the split, with Tamara being based in London with her daughter Minty and Slater spending an increasing amount of time back in Los Angeles.

The Jimmy Choo boss was reportedly set to move out to New York to close the geographical gap, but instead opted to call it a day.

A close source told the Mail: ‘We all thought Tamara and Christian were made for each other, but the pressures of their respective careers meant they were spending too much time apart.

'Tamara always puts her daughter first and with two businesses - her shoe brand Jimmy Choo and American fashion label Halston - to run as well, it's all been too difficult. Tamara speaks very fondly of Christian and I'm sure they will stay good friends.'
