The rumour mill went into overdrive earlier this year, with talk Cheryl was angling for a place on the US panel.

And now it seems her dream is set to become a reality, after reports the songstress wowed American execs when they came to watch her on the UK show.

In fact it’s said they loved the British beauty so much they offered her the whopping new deal on the spot.

‘She was absolutely delighted,' an insider revealed to the Sun. 'Cheryl has really charmed the American execs. They love her good looks and the way she wears her heart on her sleeve.

'And of course her chemistry with Simon played a huge part in it. They are great together.'

The official US line-up has yet to be announced, but it’s thought Simon Cowell could reveal the judges within a matter of weeks.

‘I’m going to make an announcement within three or four weeks, which is going to tell everyone everything. There will be some surprises,’ he revealed when pressed on his choices, joking ‘OK, one of the judges has quite long hair.’

It’s thought if Cheryl makes a move stateside, she’ll use the opportunity to launch her music career there, too.

‘It’s the next part of her big plan,’ the insider added. ‘She’s an incredibly hard worker and she will definitely get a boost by appearing on the X Factor, which is set to be a sure-fire hit.’
