Cheryl Cole is keen to show off Geordie roots to new boyfriend Tre Holloway

Cheryl Cole is arguably Newcastle’s most famous export, and she's putting the focus back on the city as she plans to pay homage to it in a novel way. Next weekend she’ll take her New Jersey-born boyfriend, Tre Holloway, on a special tour.

The trip will hopefully allow the dancer to get a grasp of what life was like for Cheryl growing up – he’ll also be able to see why the city still has a such a special place in her heart.

A source told The Sun: ‘Cheryl and Tre are getting really serious now. She wants him to see where she went to school and the places she used to hang about.

‘She’s planned a no-frills few days to give Tre an idea of what it was like when she was young.' The couple’s trip to the North East will not only give the lovebirds time together, it’ll also serve as a rest before Cheryl’s solo tour of the UK kicks off on 3 October.
