Our January cover star Cameron Diaz confirms she has wed Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden

Marie Claire’s January cover girl Cameron Diaz has married her partner Benji Madden, a rep for the star confirms.

Once considered the ultimate single girl's girl, the 42 year-old actress exchanged vows with the Good Charlotte guitarist in an intimate ceremony at her LA home last night - although something tells us that, having married a rockstar, she isn't exactly settling down. 

The pair, who got engaged just before Christmas after dating since May, invited 100 guests reportedly including Gwyneth Paltrow and Reese Witherspoon as well as bridesmaids Drew Barrymore and Nicole Richie, who, as wife of Benji’s twin brother Joel Madden, is now Cameron’s sister-in-law. Nicole and Joel’s 5 year-old son, Sparrow, was also reportedly a ring bearer.

‘We couldn't be happier to begin our new journey together surrounded by our closest family and friends,’ the newlyweds said in a statement.

‘The couple were married on [Monday] evening in an intimate ceremony at their home in Los Angeles,’ Cameron’s rep confirmed to PEOPLE.

Revealing in her Marie Claire cover interview that she’s the happiest she’s ever been, Cameron said ‘I tell my girlfriends who are younger than me that life doesn’t begin until you are 40. I know who I am, I know how to build a life that is more full and vibrant. You have a confidence in the things that you know. You’re not just practising anymore.’

On the prospect of starting a family, she told us; ‘If a family happens then it happens. If children come to me then I would do that, but I’m not someone who feels like she has to do something because it is expected.’
