With one of the most famous baby bumps on the planet, it’s no surprise we’ve been eagerly awaiting every snippet of Beyonce's pregnancy news. The most exciting new development to date? The starlet’s expecting a girl!

According to friends of the singer, Beyonce's ‘thrilled’ to be having a daughter, and can’t wait to welcome the little one into the world.

The singer's made no secret of the fact that she’s already started shopping for her newborn, and was recently rumoured to have placed an order for some tiny pink Louboutins. 

And now we know why!

Revealing Beyonce's exciting news to Perez Hilton, a friend of the singer said: ‘Beyonce is thrilled she’s having a daughter.

‘She and her mother are so close, and she’s wanted to have that relationship with her own child.’

Last week it was revealed Beyonce and Jay-Z have been hard at work making over their New York apartment, reportedly planning to install a huge 2,200 square foot nursery ahead of their tiny new arrival in February.
