Beyoncé and Jay Z are the latest A-list couple to go vegan, with the pair kicking off with a 22 day spiritual cleanse
Beyoncé is about to embark on an ambitious new diet plan - inspired by husband Jay Z - which will see her and her music mogul man going vegan in an attempt to connect with their spiritual side.
For most of us on the run-up to Christmas, it's all mince pies and festive gingerbread as offices (ours included) are flooded with tasty treats... But not for Bey and Jay.
Instead, the superstar couple have pledged to begin a drastic lifestyle cleanse over the next 22 days, in which all animal-based products will be strictly out-of-bounds.
Inspired by his exercise physiologist and friend, Marc Borges, Jay Z announced his and his wife's brand new regime on his Life and Times website.
'On December 3rd, one day before my 44th birthday I will embark on a 22 Days challenge to go completely vegan, or as I prefer to call it, plant-based!', the hip-hop rapper wrote.
'This all began a few months back when a good friend and vegan challenged me to embrace a 'plant-based breakfast' everyday. It was surprisingly easier on me than I thought...'
'So you can call it a spiritual and physical cleanse.'
But at least he won't be going it alone. 'P.S. B is also joining me', Jay added, before requesting: 'Any professional vegans out there that have any great food spots please help out!'
The end of Bey and Jay's 22 day cleanse (handily) falls on Christmas Day, meaning the disciplined pair will at least be able to make up for lost time with one seriously decadent turkey feast.
