A year after Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore called it quits, Kutcher has taken the next step in the couple's legal separation and filed divorce papers to end his seven-year marriage to the actress
According to reports, Kutcher’s divorce petition, which he filed on Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court, cites ‘irreconcilable differences.’ The Two and a Half Men star isn’t seeking spousal support and isn’t asking for Moore to be denied any. The couple did not appear to have a prenuptial agreement.
Although the couple officially broke up their six-year marriage after allegations of infidelities on Kutcher’s part last November, some sources suggest that Demi, who turned 50 in November of this year, has been the one holding up divorce proceedings in the hopes of getting a bigger divorce settlement.
According to People, Kutcher has hired Hollywood heavyweight divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, who has handled the high-profile divorces of Kim Kardashian, Heidi Klum, Britney Spears and Angelina Jolie, among others.
Kutcher has since moved on with his former That 70s Show co-star, Mila Kunis, while Demi, who was said to be ‘heartbroken’ after her marriage broke down, was rumoured to be dating 38-year-old New Zealand-born actor Martin Henderson over the summer.
