'It was too much too soon'

It's a sad day for romance in celebsville, as Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson have reportedly called off their engagement.

TMZ broke the news that the pair had decided to go their separate ways over the weekend as now isn't the right time for them as a couple. However, they allegedly aren't ruling out a reunion further down the line.

The pair confirmed they were engaged back in June, less than a month into their relationship. 'It was too much too soon. It's not shocking to anyone,' a Grande source told PEOPLE.

Since the news broke Pete has deleted his Instagram account, though his Twitter remains active at the time of writing.

The couple will have had an intense few weeks following the tragic death of Mac Miller, Ariana's ex, last month. She and Miller separated amicably in May after two and a half years together due to their respective work commitments, but remained good friends.

2018 has not been a good year for celebrity break-ups, with Jennifer Aniston & Justin Theroux and Channing Tatum & Jenna Dewan all calling off their respective partnerships.

Our thoughts are with Ariana and Pete as they go their separate ways.
