Angelina Jolie is known for being cool, confident and tough as nails.

So it's a bit surprising that the topic of sex could make her blush.

But according to Entertainment Weekly, the actress' lovely face turned crimson red when they asked her about the sexually explicit film Fifty Shades Of Grey.

Back in 2012, when talks of a Fifty Shades film adaptation were just starting, it was rumoured that Angelina was on the shortlist to direct. But it seems there was little truth to the reports.

EW reports that Angie laughed, shook her head and blushed when they asked about the rumours.

At the time, she had just made her directorial debut with In The Land Of Blood And Honey - though the bondage-filled film would have been a huge departure from her Bosnian war drama.

'I came very clear out of the gate: after Blood And Honey, if I ever directed again, it would have to be a certain kind of film,' she says. 'You know, I'm looking forward to seeing what Sam [Taylor-Johnson] does with Fifty Shades and she's amazing.'

'I...I think they're just … it's funny, I think with directing, you just think: I'm better at telling some stories than others. But um, who knows?'

The film based on E.L James' hit book trilogy could have gone in a much different project with Angie at the helm - but we're pretty psyched with the direction it's going in now.

With Jamie Dornan, Dakota Johnson and Rita Ora rounding out the cast, we can offically say we're counting down to the release date: 15 Februrary 2015.
