Amy Winehouse diagnosed with contagious skin infection

Amy Winehouse's troubles seem to be never-ending – the singer has now been diagnosed with a contagious, itchy skin disease.

The star, who has recently been pictured with painful-looking lumps on her face, has picked up impetigo – a highly-contagious bacterial infection that causes a blistering and an itchy rash.

A statement from Amy's rep confirms: 'Amy has been diagnosed with impetigo, which she has been told can be highly contagious. Because of that she has been put on antibiotics and may have to stay home alone for the next few days.'

But, friends tell People magazine, Winehouse won't let it get her down.

One revealed: 'She's fine. She's not hiding away. She's never been one to care what people think.'

She might not care, but we're sure nobody else fancies catching it.
