Waitrose launches a gin tasting service you can enjoy at home

Splendid.

Splendid.

It's summer (apparently) and there's nothing quite like sitting in your/someone else's/a pub garden and enjoying a lovely gin in a large and fancy glass, naturally.

But there's also something to be said for getting cosy on the couch and sipping a G&T while catching up on Love Island with your pyjamas on, hair in a ponytail and a face mask working its magic.

And if you're more of a gin in than gin out kind of person, Waitrose is launching an at-home tasting service that you'll want to sign up for immediately.

The 'Gin O Clock' sessions are two hours long and involve specialists visiting your home with five different gins so that you can try out some tasty newbies. The Waitrose & Partner specialist will provide all the gins which will be paired with delicious Fever-Tree tonics, so that you can really enjoy their range of flavours - like pink pepper and sloe gin.

All of the yes.

The session also includes a masterclass on making the perfect gin and tonic and will explain the history of each beverage. Plus, each person in the party will get their own Fever-Tree Dartington crystal glass to keep.

It'll set you back £400 to enjoy the service, and accommodates 6 - 10 people - so if you can get nine friends over it'll only be £40. Bargain.

Andrew Riding, Drinks Experience Manager at Waitrose Wine Tasting at Home said: 'The Waitrose Wine Tasting at Home Gin O’ Clock experience is a fun and relaxed way for you and your guests to find out more about various gin flavour profiles.

'From knowing how much ice to use, to which glass choice is best, our experience will help hone your gin and tonic making skills. Britain is having a great love affair with gin at the moment and we are excited to either teach fans more about their favourite drink or introduce the world of gin to newcomers.'

We're in.
