This Game of Thrones theory has fans convinced that Jon Snow will die

Goodbye perfect man bun?

SPOILERS AHEAD

Game of Thrones season 8 is coming to a close, and with just two episodes left there are still a load of loose ends to tie up. Is Jaime running back to save or slay Cersei? Who will Arya's green-eyed victim be? And will the Mother of Dragons finally get comfy on the Iron Throne?

So many questions, and only two episodes left. Considering a bunch of long standing characters were killed off during the battle against the Night King, we're certain that we'll be waving goodbye to some of the key players over the next two weeks.

But will Jon Snow be one of them?

According to this theory, the former King of the North might not make it to the end to watch his lady love/aunt take charge of the seven kingdoms. Gulp.

And it all has to do with direwolves. Remember how Jon left poor Ghost behind as he left Winterfell for Kings Landing, without even so much as a nod goodbye?

One theory on Comicbook.com noted that often there's a link between each house and their associated animals (think the Stark direwolves and the Targaryen dragons). Let's not forget that Robb and Rickon Stark were both murdered by the same people who killed their pets.

So does that mean that now Ghost is out of the picture, and Rhaegal - Jon's preferred mode of dragon transport - is now swimming with the fishes that he'll be killed off pretty soon?

It reads: 'Ghost, the white direwolf that Jon was given at the beginning of the series. In The Last Of The Starks, Jon sends Ghost away to live in the ‘True North’ alongside Tormund Giantsbane and the rest of the wildlings.

'Rhaegal — Dany’s dragon, named after Jon’s father (Dany’s brother), Rhaegar. He became Jon’s personal steed during the battle against the Night King and looked like he would be the true spirit animal Jon was connected to. In The Last Of The Starks, Rhaegal is shot out of the sky and killed by Euron Greyjoy and the Iron Fleet.'

However, before you get too panicked, there are a few inconsistencies with this one. Ghost isn't dead, he has just been re-homed. Plus, Bran and Sansa's direwolves are long gone but they've made it this far... unless death is coming for them, too?

We don't know what to believe anymore.
