'I’m not going to give you even two minutes to honour your question'

Hollywood actresses are on the constant receiving end of inappropriate (and in some cases downright rude) questions, from sexist fashion enquiries on the red carpet to queries on weight and age.

And it seems that those Hollywood actresses have had enough - as Penelope Cruz proved this week.

Academy Award winners Penelope Cruz and Gwyneth Paltrow sat down with Interview magazine to talk Hollywood life and motherhood, and inevitably the subject of ageing came up - something Penelope Cruz proved to have some seriously strong opinions on.

'Journalists have been asking me, since I was, like, 22, "Are you afraid of ageing?"', the Volver actress explained. 'That is such a crazy question for a 22-year-old girl or, for that matter, for a 42-year-old. I combat that craziness by refusing to answer the question.'

She continued: 'When it comes to talking about ageing as an actress, I feel like, "What the fuck? I’m not going to give you even two minutes to honour your question. It doesn’t deserve that." Something changed when I gave birth to my daughter. I started thinking, "Come on, it’s 2017. Why do women still have to be talking about this? It’s crazy." That sense only got bigger when I had children.'

Penelope proved how little age mattered, moving on from the conversation topic rapidly and instead explaining her upcoming role as Donatella Versace in the latest instalment of Ryan Murphy’s American Crime Story series.

The heavily anticipated show, The Assassination of Gianni Versace, comes out in 2018 - and it's set to be unmissable.
